He Whispers "May I Steal Your Heart?"

Despite his portrayal as a sinister, womanizing playboy...this man can saaaang! John Mayer is tall, dark and handsome. The typical type that has women and girls chasing him down in Whole Foods screaming "Oh my god, have my baby...ahhhhh!!!!" or something like that. However, after his bouts of dating some of Hollywood's most beloved women, allegedly breaking their hearts and exposing the details of their sex lives, people seemed to have turn against him. I have and always will love John Mayer. I could really care less what or who he does in his spare time. His music is what captured my heart.

Gangsta Girl.

I am not posting this video because I condone ignorance and stupidity. I am simply posting it because I support any kind of comedic relief from the monotony of the daily routine. I must say, despite Kreayshawn's ridiculous verbal spewing she calls "rapping" I had a pretty satisfying belly laugh from watching this.
If you would like to laugh and possibly catch a case of the "I-can't-get-this-song-out-of-my-head" 's then PRESS PLAY!

Ray Of Sunshine

Though he is a blues singer, Ray Lamontagne brings only sunny, warm fuzzy feelings to my soul. His voice is one of the most brilliant I've heard in years. That raspy, soulful tone leaves me aching for more. I could listen to him all day, everyday, for infinity and beyond. The best thing about him is that he isn't a celebrity. He is a true artist, with no need for the spotlight to indulge his egotistical desires. He seems to be content with his family in their cabin in the woods. Their life out in the sticks unfolding without running water or electricity. I mean, though I couldn't live that way, it is inspiring that they do. Without television or outside distractions, he must have plenty of time to put his creative mind to work... and I enjoy every bit of that mind of his.

Bloodhound Gang

They are not The Beatles. Their lyrics don’t express a sense of peace or reveal a deep meaning. They are simply The Bloodhound Gang, a group that is talentedly silly. I listen to them when I’m feeling sarcastic and a little bit frisky. The band formed in the early ninety's as a punk/alternative band from Collegeville, Pennsylvania. Their melodies are energetic and fun and the words they sing are devilishly hilarious. I don’t take my music too seriously. Yes, I like the classic musicians and bands, but, I find music that is a little out of the box to be a great mood lifter. Gimme a band that screams about Jesus being a Mexican with a crowbar, stealing hubcaps from cars, or a song about the alleviation of having to bang your ex on their birthday. It’s a nice, comedic relief from most music. Sometimes artists just take themselves and their music too serious. It’s refreshing to see a band make comedy into music, and make it sound so damn good.

Singing In The Shower.

I, like many people, sing in the shower. It's fun to belt out a tune while getting squeaky clean. The acoustics of the bathroom make my voice sound exceptionally good, despite my lack of singing ability. Today as I lathered up, I was singing The Zombies "Time Of The Season", when my boyfriend knocked on the door letting me know that our two cat's were sitting outside the bathroom door listening to my performance. He said they seemed to like it, or they were just merely confused by the pitchy noises. Even still, singing in the shower is the way to start a very good day. Try it. You'll have a jolly-ol'-cleanse.

& I'll Be Singing, "I Did It My Way..."

Frank Sinatra's memorable melody, “My Way” tells the story of a man whose life is approaching its end. He is certain that he lived his life genuinely and despite problems that arouse he kept his integrity and took responsibility for how he spent the years.

This song has always intrigued me. When I was quite young, my dad had a karaoke CD made of him singing tunes like Jerry Lee Lewis’ “Great Balls Of Fire”, Tanya Tucker’s “Delta Dawn” and Sinatra’s “My Way”. My father's voice, coupled with these great hits, sounded amazing and I delighted in listening to his CD daily.

“My Way” was by far my favorite song. It was a lyrical masterpiece, line by line telling a story. Though it is somewhat melancholy, it’s also very real. The song illustrates the life of someone whose existence wasn't perfect but it was meaningful and true. The song is so peaceful. It brought me serenity knowing that no matter how someone lives, as long as they do things that make them happy, and they don’t hold onto misery, they can be content in the end. And this song still gives me peace of mind. Many others, including, Dorothy Squires, Elvis Presley and Sid Vicious have attempted to recreate the magic of “My Way” but no one does it like Sinatra.
