What is in a name?

My name is AimeĆ©...accent included, very french. I do love the uniqueness of my names spelling but I have always wanted an intriguingly unique name. When I was little I told my parents that I wanted to be called Feather Rose. To me, that was the prettiest, most feminine name around. I must admit, I had pretty good taste in names. Of course, Feather is a bit odd but that's what makes it so amazing. At this moment, I would like my name to be Evangelina (pronounced Eve-angelina). It's a lovely name, no?

I don't like the fact that everyone seems to have the same name. There are a million people named: Jennifer, Sarah, Amanda, Jessica, Ashley...bore, bore, bore...snore! When I have children they are going to have the most inspired, interesting names on the block. What are your favorite names?

Human Barbie - Olivia Wilde

I'll admit it... I have an enormous girl crush on Miss Olivia Wilde. Can you blame me? She is almost alien, she's so pretty. It's nice to see such a super-stylish, stunning actress be so humble at the same time. Her beauty isn't the only thing that makes her such an icon. She is stupendously intelligent and charismatic and unlike her young Hollywood peers...she can actually act.
She's been in films like: Alpha Dog, Year One, The Next Three Days, Tron: Evolution, as well as, starring on House opposite the magnificent Hugh Laurie. If you haven't taken notice of her just yet, get out from under that rock and check out her work!

My Kind'a Man.

I don't have a type of guy that I always go for. For me, someone who is attractive is confident. He's not necessarily physically attractive but he asserts himself and has a strong sense of self. That's sexy. Plus, being funny adds to the sex appeal. I dream of a man who is parts of many men. He has Ray Lamontagne's voice. He has Adrien Brody's nose. Clive Owen's eyes and strong, masculine jaw. John Stamos' hair. Johnny Depp's artistic genius. Justin Timberlake's sense of humor. Though, even a man with none of these qualities... risks the chance of me falling for him. Flaws are more attractive to me than perfectly symmetrical bone structure or rock solid abs. Personality is so important and confidence even more so.

Oh, the male species... ; )

Love the Olive

As you may know... I am a bit of a skincare nut. I have researched and tested many at-home masks, cleansers, toners...etc. Always looking for a new treatment to keep my skin smooth, clear and radiant I recently stumbled upon the ancient beauty secret of the Mediterranean. OLIVE OIL! Apparently Olive Oil helps to maintain skin elasticity and promotes a glowing complexion, amongst other benefits.
Sure, I've put it on a salad or two but never thought to smear it on my face. However, after reading about the benefits of Olive Oil as a skin moisturizer, I had to try it out. I went to my local supermarket and picked up a bottle of Extra Virgin Olive Oil. For the past few days I have been using it to take off my make-up at night, as a face moisturizer during the day and in my hair. The outcome: silky, smooth plump facial skin and my hair is soooo incredibly soft and manageable. This stuff really works.

To my surprise, I found that the beautiful Sophia Loren is an avid Olive Oil user, even bathing in it. And...hello, that woman is like fifty years older than me and damn, lady looks good. This skincare discovery is a goldmine and I'm sharing it with you because the best beauty secrets should be known by all. : )

New Day, New Way

So, I have relocated to California. I have been here about a month, settling in. My new location is absolutely beautiful, the ocean is literally my backyard. San Francisco is only a ten-minute drive up the highway. Endless possibilities at my fingertips. I'm still figuring out what I want for my life but I have managed to focus on making myself a better Aimee. I have quit smoking, been a hell of a lot more positive about my future and my talents. I feel like this move has helped me accomplish a peace of mind, despite everything not being perfect, I am clear headed and optimistic. I am devoting my new life to finding happiness through healthy, positive means. I want to pursue my aspirations as an artist. Although, I have never stopped drawing, painting, writing or creating, I have lacked in my motivation to put my work out there for others to experience (and hopefully enjoy). I love that California has allowed me to swing the doors of my inner-self wide open and in turn has given me the confidence to go for my dreams.

Ray Of Sunshine

Though he is a blues singer, Ray Lamontagne brings only sunny, warm fuzzy feelings to my soul. His voice is one of the most brilliant I've heard in years. That raspy, soulful tone leaves me aching for more. I could listen to him all day, everyday, for infinity and beyond. The best thing about him is that he isn't a celebrity. He is a true artist, with no need for the spotlight to indulge his egotistical desires. He seems to be content with his family in their cabin in the woods. Their life out in the sticks unfolding without running water or electricity. I mean, though I couldn't live that way, it is inspiring that they do. Without television or outside distractions, he must have plenty of time to put his creative mind to work... and I enjoy every bit of that mind of his.
